Lost Your Glasses in San Diego? Here's What to Do
It happens more than you'd think.
You're on a beach trip, at a conference, visiting San Diego for the weekend, or just out exploring when suddenly your glasses are gone.
Maybe you left them at a restaurant. Maybe they were sat on. Maybe they ended up in the ocean (this happens more than you can even imagine!)
Whatever happened, you probably don't want to spend the rest of your trip trying to see without them.
The good news is that you may not have to.
Need Glasses Fast? Come See Us
Revival Vintage Eyewear has two San Diego locations in North Park and Bird Rock in La Jolla, and both offer lens replacement services.
You can walk in without an appointment, bring your existing frames if you still have them, and we'll take a look at what you need.
If you lost your glasses completely, that's okay, too. We have hundreds of vintage and independent designer frames in the shop, and we can help you find something that works for your prescription and your face.
How Quickly Can We Get You New Glasses?
Because we have an in-house optical lab, we can make many lenses right here in the shop.
For a traditional single vision prescription, lens replacement can often be completed in about 30 minutes.
If you don't need a prescription, non prescription lens replacements can often be completed in about 10 minutes.
Progressives, bifocals and other specialty lenses can take longer depending on the prescription and lens options. We'll give you an estimated turnaround when you come in.
So if you're visiting San Diego and suddenly find yourself without your glasses, you may not have to wait several days for a new pair.
Still Have Your Frames?
If you broke your glasses but still have the frame, bring them in.
You don't necessarily need to buy a completely new pair.
We can replace lenses in many existing frames, including vintage frames, designer frames, sunglasses and rimless drill mount frames.
If your frame is in good condition, we'll see if we can give it a new set of lenses and get you back to wearing the glasses you already know fit you.
Lost Your Frames, Too?
That's where our frame collection comes in.
Revival specializes in vintage eyewear and independent designers, so you won't just be looking at rows of generic frames.
Our collection includes authentic unworn vintage frames from decades past, along with current independent brands.
You might find a frame from the 1970s, a Japanese acetate from the 1990s, or something completely unexpected.
And because our inventory changes constantly, every visit is a little different.
What If You Don't Have Your Prescription?
If you don't have a copy of your prescription, don't panic.
If you need a new eye exam, our North Park location offers eye exams with an independent optometrist.
That means you may be able to take care of your eye exam and your new glasses in the same place.

If you're staying in San Diego for a few days and suddenly need glasses, we're easy to get to from many parts of the city.
Our locations are in North Park and Bird Rock, close to areas including downtown, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, La Jolla and surrounding neighborhoods.
And if you're already planning to explore either neighborhood, you can stop in while you're here.
